Summer, festivals, and great coffee—we're so ready! ☀️ Huge shoutout to the team; we can't wait to meet you all. Check out the info below to get fully geared up for your cafe shifts!
This page if for you if you are working with CLO at any of these festivals:
FOCUS, Wildfires, New Wine, Dreaming the Impossible, Satellites & UCCF Forum
At CLO, we believe a great coffee experience is about so much more than just a caffeine fix. Somewhere along the way, coffee got downgraded to 'liquid fuel' and a quick way to satisfy thirst. We’re here to change that! Every cup we pour is a golden opportunity to spark conversation and build real community. Let’s reclaim the coffee break as a sacred moment—giving our guests the time, space, and connection they deserve.
Cafe highlights
espresso
CLO coffee is hand roasted by Linda, Tom & Josh in Leeds. The espresso blend is certified Fairtrade and called Solomon's Porch. This features a blend of different specialty coffees. One coffee is grown in Rwanda and the CLO team went to visit last month Click Here to view stories.
Solomon's Porch was the gate on the Temple where EVERYONE was welcome. Coffee is a great welcome and way of connecting with people, no matter what our differences may be.
Eco cups
The CLO paper cups are completely recyclable AND home compostable. Basically the lining on the paper cups and lids is just a durable paper (fully pulpable!). We're really proud of this and can make us all feel better using a single use cup.
Equipment
The espresso machines we are using at all festivals are Nuova Simonelli. High quality machines make the life of the barista easier and this make of machines have been used in the World Barista Championships.
Non-Dairy
We are supplying Kokoa Hot Chocolate powder which is certified vegan.
This means that we can serve the hot chocolate with a choice of milk alternatives. NOTE: The vanilly frappe powder is NOT vegan so we are unable to do vegan frappes this summer. (There are loads of non-dairy Iced drinks)
New for 2026 PEA Milk Alternative. It works the same as Oat but has less sugars, gluten free & 50% more calcuim than Dairy.
Brewtique
We are serving up some really delicious filter or 'Batch brew' coffee in the cafes. In some cafes where we don't have espresso machines we will only be serving filter coffees. Filter coffee, when brewed with good coffee and the right volume of coffee, can taste incredible.
This summer we are bringing back a popular fruity coffee; Tropical Fruit infused coffee (must be tried!) and a Gesha (v high grade coffee) from Peru. Alongside the Rwanda where we visited. And we are also modelling a perfect setup for chuches to take back and serve in their communities.
Coffee Farms
All our coffees are ethically sourced but some we have direct relationship with also.
CLO social media has lots on Rwanda coffee farmers from our recent trip. The co-operative there founded a single-mothers farm to enable access to work and provide childcare. They also built a healthcare centre for the community with nutrition support for under 5s.
Linda, our Co-Founder, has been to visit farmers in Guatemala where they are innovating around coffee famring practices and becoming more environmentally friendly. You can see more on our social media channels.
Syrups
This summer we are using SIMPLY Syrups. A QUICK guide is: To add flavour to a coffee, use 2 pumps. To add flavour to a matcha use 3 pumps. To make a cooler, use 4 pumps.
