Festival Cafe Team

We're so excited to be working with your festival this summer.  If you are on team then we can't wait to meet you. Hopefully there will be some useful information on this page to equip you for your cafe role.

This page if for you if you are working with CLO at any of these festivals:

New Wine, FOCUS, Wildfires, UCCF Fusion, Dreaming the Impossible, Limitless, Satellites.

At CLO cafes we want to ensure that our guests have a great coffee experience. The mission of serving coffee got lost to being a way to satisfy thirst and give fuel. We want to make sure that every coffee served is an opportunity to stir conversation and connection. Let's reclaim the cup of coffee as a sacred moment that brings our guests time and connection with others.

Cafe highlights

espresso

CLO coffee is hand roasted by Linda and Tom in Leeds. The espresso blend is certified Fairtrade and called Solomon's Porch. This features a blend of different specialty coffees. One coffee is grown in Rwanda by an  all female cooperative, founded by 30 women to strengthen the presence of female producers in the area.

Solomon's Porch was the gate on the Temple where EVERYONE was welcome. Coffee is a great welcome and way of connecting with people, no matter what our differences may be.

Eco cups

The CLO paper cups are completely recyclable AND home compostable. Basically the lining on the paper cups and lids is just a durable paper (fully pulpable!). We're really proud of this and can make us all feel better using a single use cup.

Equipment

The espresso machines we are using at all festivals are Nuova Simonelli. High quality machines make the life of the barista easier and this make of machines have been used in the World Barista Championships.

Non-Dairy

We are supplying Kokoa Hot Chocolate powder which is certified vegan.

This means that we can serve the hot chocolate  with a choice of milk alternatives (Oat). NOTE: The vanilly frappe powder is NOT vegan so we are unable to do vegan frappes this summer. (There are loads of non-dairy Iced drinks)

Brewtique

We are serving up some really delicious filter or 'Batch brew' coffee in the cafes. In some cafes where we don't have espresso machines we will only be serving filter coffees. Filter coffee, when brewed with good coffee and the right volume of coffee, can taste incredible. We are wanting to serve up a choice of different single origins (if customers can't decide - they are all nice!). And we are also modelling a perfect setup for chuches to take back and serve in their communities.
A highlight this year will be the Anaerobic, Strawberry Infused Colombia coffee which is a must for all coffee connoisseurs

Coffee Farms

All our coffees are ethically sourced, but one of our coffees from Uganda is the most meaningful relationship we have with coffee farmers. You can watch our mini-series for how we work with the farmers in Uganda on our YouTube Channel

Linda, our Co-Founder, has been to visit farmers in Guatemala this Spring and you can see more on our social media channels.

Syrups

This summer we have chosen to serve SIMPLY Syrups. To add flavour to a coffee, use 2 pumps. To add flavour to a matcha use 3 pumps. To make a cooler, use 4 pumps.
